Chief of Police Lloyd Halvorson 

Lloyd Halvorson was sworn in as the inaugural Chief of Police for the newly formed Lake Region State College Police Department on December 5, 2016. Halvorson has been a licensed peace officer for 32 years. He began his law enforcement career as a reserve duty sheriff in Ward County, spent ten years as a police officer/investigator/and accreditation manager for the Bismarck, ND Police Department, and served as the Director of Peace Officer Training for Lake Region State College from 2002 through 2011. Halvorson holds an undergraduate and graduate degree in criminal justice from Minot State University, served seven years on the ND Peace Officer Standards and Training Board, and was an executive committee member for the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST). In addition to his role as Chief of Police, Halvorson serves as the Lake Region State College Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs. 

 


Lt. 约翰Maritato

In 1999, 约翰Maritato earned a bachelor's in Education degree from Mayville State University.  In 2000, he enrolled in the Peace Officer Training Program at Lake Region State College. After graduating from the program, he served for the Devils Lake Police Department for 12 years. Maritato held several positions during his time at the DLPD, including a patrolman, School Resources Officer, Assistant Detective, and a part of the SWAT Team. 自2012年以来, he has been an executive committee member for the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST). Maritato has also been serving as a part-time deputy with the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department and as the Lieutenant with the Lake Region State College Police Department since 2016. He is the Director of the Peace Officer Training program at Lake Region State College.  

 


Sgt. 格雷格LaHaise

Gregory LaHaise began his career in Law Enforcement as a patrol officer with the Grand Forks Police Department in 1985. He served 34 years and retired in 2019 at the rank of Lieutenant. LaHaise graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1989, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. LaHaise has been with the Lake Region State College Peace Officer Training Program since opening its doors in Grand Forks in 2010.  

 


Sgt. 吉姆快速眼动

After graduating from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Criminal Justice Studies, James Remer began his career with the Grand Forks Police Department in 1990. Throughout his time on the job, he held many roles throughout the department. This includes patrol, 调查, 格兰特写作, 培训, 社区外展, 和管理. In 2021, Remer retired with the rank of Deputy Chief of Police after serving 31 years with the Grand Forks Police Department. He has been working with the Peace Officer Training Program since 2015 and recently took an instructor position with the POTP.
